Topic Overview: The meeting will consist of a tour of LES Salt Valley Generating Station. LES's most efficient natural gas-fired plant uses waste heat from two of the three aero-derivative combustion turbines to create steam which is then used to operate a steam turbine and generate additional power. Because of the high plant efficiency, this station is usually the first local resource dispatched to meet customer load and can generate 168 MW on a hot summer day. It was recently named one of the top 12 plants in the world by Power Magazine.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: All attendees must wear long pants and closed-toe leather shoes. All attendees will be required to wear a hard hat and safety glasses with side shields. If you have your own and prefer wearing them, please bring them along. Otherwise, LES will provide.
