Topic Overview: Following the microbrewery tour, Mike Hasenkamp and Danny Kluthe will give a presentation on the Olean Energy Project. The Olean Energy Project is a demonstration methane recovery project located on Danny Kluthe's farm located near Dodge, Nebraska. Manure from Danny's 8,000 head hog operation is pumped into a concrete digester where it decomposes and generates methane gas. This methane gas is then collected and burned in an 80 kilowatt engine/generator set to produce electricity which is fed into the power grid. This project was the first methane recovery project in Nebraska to use confined animal manure as its renewable energy source.

This presentation is worth One (1.0) Professional Development Hour. Indicate your need for a PDH certificate during sign in at the meeting or on the sign up form below.
