Topic Overview: Don will talk about the emerging 10Gigabit Ethernet Standards, the media which will support it, and also the current and emerging standards for Power over Ethernet. The IEEE and TIA standards continue to keep pace with technology enabling faster and more complex network capabilities while helping to reduce installation cost by providing both power and data to the end devices over a single four-pair cable. With the initial ability to provide power over the data cable, manufacturers now have an eye toward provisioning an ever-increasing amount of power to the end devices. Don will talk about what capabilities are available today and what the future seems to hold.
