Topic Overview: Pat will discuss abnormal power quality events, symptoms, causes, and results. Two of Pat’s most interesting abnormal power quality events on 13.8 kV distribution circuits will be discussed at length: Case 1: A bizarre 1Ø event with multiple triggers that created ideal conditions for ferroresonance. Case 2: Unexplained tripping and overheating of lightly loaded transformer. The summary and closing will include advise should anyone encounter problems such as these.
