Topic Overview: The speaker will present information on the design and implementation of a telemedicine laboratory consultation system called STATPack™. The intent of the STATPack™ system was to help clinical laboratories throughout greater Nebraska become more prepared for a bioterrorism event or public health emergency by having a direct consultation link to the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory located at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The presentation will also include a brief discussion on how eXtreme Programming, an agile method, was used during the initial development of the system (www.statpack.org).
